One of the RSSP's aims is to engage the whole school population in regular high quality PE, physical activity and school sport. There are many reasons why some children might find it challenging to access PE lessons and therefore many reasons why teachers may find it challenging to ensure all children are fully included.
Richmond SSP takes their responsibility to ensure quality PE for all children very seriously and as such have provided the following services:
RSSP have a school sports co-ordinator (SSCo) with specific responsibility for co-ordinating all of the above. Dave Francis has been Richmond's Inclusion SSCo for 3 years. Dave works at Clarendon School, which is Richmond's school for children with Moderate Learning Difficulties. He has 10 years of experience of teaching PE to children with SEN.
Dave works closely with Richmond's sports development team who provide a fantastic array of sports clubs and activities for children with SEN and disabilities.
