Curriculum Leadership

This years Young Ambassadors, Hannah Kent from Waldegrave School and James Church, from Teddington School are both currently in year 10. Both are extremely committed to school sport and leadership. They were scouted from a number of young people who do volunteer work and help out with sports at different secondary and primary schools.

Hannah represents the school at Hockey, Netball, Football and Athletics although she says she can be persuaded to take part in anything sports orientated! Outside of school she also plays rugby and cycles. As a member of St Mary's AC her big passion is Athletics. She also helps out at a Multi Skills Academy.

James's passion is football. As Centre midfield he captained the school football team in Year 8 & 9. Outside of school he plays for Hampton & Richmond FC and is a keen squash and tennis player.

The Young Ambassadors programme, established by the Youth Sport Trust, aims to involve young people in the promotion of physical activity and school sport and promote the Olympic ideal in the lead up to 2012. The Young Ambassadors selected for their commitment and ability in sport and leadership through sport have received specialist training to undertake their roles. Their duties will include;
- Presenting at school assemblies
- Promoting leadership through sport to pupils taking Young Leaders Award
- Increasing opportunities for young people to join clubs
- Richmond Borough Leader ship Academy
- Offering ideas for the development of Gifted and Talented and Leadership students.
